To be perfectly honest, I‘m surprised more people aren’t putting their “critical thinking” skills to use. I think the global warming scare is getting pretty old, but it’s going to continue to ride as long as people refuse to question the status quo and think for themselves. Through out all of history, the earth’s climate has fluctuated. We don’t fully understand the climate, and in fact, the only constant thing about the climate is change. Media is very good at spreading the word of global warming. Why? Because it sells. They’re not really concerned with if it’s true or not, but heck, it sure will bring in some attention. Scientists can pump out as many charts as they want, but they really do seem agenda driven. One example is the sea level chart in this particular reading. It begins charting levels from approximately 1875 to today with the chart consistently going up. Big industry didn’t even start in the 1800’s. In fact, the industrial age didn’t really get cooking until after WW2. Who’s the blame for the constant rise in the 1800’s, which was already consistently going up. Here’s another one. The chart shown in class the other day showed the average temperatures of the earth throughout history. The fluctuations were incredible. Who was to blame for the crazy climate back then? Those darn cave men. Those cave fires must warmed the earth to get them out of the ice age. What about the medieval warm? (Don’t worry, I went on skepticalscience.com for this one) The argument against warming back then versus now was simply a circular argument. The last sentence even said. “These causes of warming contrast significantly with today’s warming, which we know now cannot be caused by the same mechanisms.” Oh, so we just KNOW, for sure. None of the natural earthly phenomena that occurred then are happening now. It’s all us lazy Americans going CO2 crazy! I’m not convinced. Which brings me to CO2. C02 is not even a major greenhouse gas, yet is deemed as the fall of mankind as we know it. In many cases, temperature rises before CO2 does. That’s as backwards saying that “lung cancer causes smoking” (Dr. Bob. Carter) Not only that, but a 2006 UN report claimed that livestock and the industry revolving around it are responsible for 18% of all greenhouse gases. When measured in a CO2 equivalent, it would be more than the worldwide transportation sector. Methane is the main gas in this, and it takes 1/12 the time to cycle out of the atmosphere than CO2. (Glenn Beck, An Inconvenient Book) Natural emissions warm the earth 23 times more than the oh-so-feared CO2. I could write all day about this, but I’ll stop here with just these few. My point is, I’m not denying that the world is get globally warmer. It’s a natural cycle. What I am denying is the exaggeration of man's impact on the environment. Global warming is all speculation. There is no basis. If anything, the only meat it has behind it is a manipulative political agenda.
“Without God, there is not virtue, because there’s no prompting of the conscience. Without God, we’re mired in the matter, that flat world that tells us only what the senses perceive. Without God, there is coarsening of the society. And without God, democracy will not and cannot long endure. If we ever forget that we’re one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.” - Ronald Reagan

Attack Watch: Forget the facts. Fight the truth.
Remember that really annoying kid back in elementary school? They were the teacher’s pet always snitching on people for whispering, or using the wrong color crayon. I know I did. (I punched one in 2nd grade, got sent to “the wall” but that’s another story...) Well now we’re dealing with the same type of thing, at the adult level. It's called Attackwatch.com: Obama’s reelection campaign idea. Of course, there’s an agenda behind it (surprise, surprise) Let’s begin the journey, shall we?
The “genius” purpose of this website in simple terms is this: You hear someone say something bad about Obama, you report it. It’s like tattle-taling, except to the government. This website is laughable, really. Apparently, stating mere facts and revealing Obama and his administration's hidden agendas to the common man is considered an “attack”. (There are giant pictures of Glenn Beck, Rick Perry, etc.) Okay, that’s the basic premise of it, but here’s where it gets really funny.
I tried to get onto this website because, of course, I was curious to see what “dirt” they were dishing up. It first asked for an email and zip code. I did, but of course skewed it. I thought for sure I was in at this point, when it brings me to another page saying at the very top, “ President Obama’s opponents are still using false claims against him and his record in an attempt to derail our momentum. Donate to support our campaign and help us fight back with the facts.” Let me translate this. “Look guys, all these conservatives and “Constitution huggers” and really starting to get on our nerves with silly things, like the truth. Revealing our government expansion ideas and other unappealing agendas are going to make us lose power, and we are power hungry imbeciles. Please donate to our cause. We love huge government and power over the people! Errr, we meant power to the people!” Also, it says, “Paid for Obama, for America.” Wow, what a great guy! It then asks for a generous “gift” to Obama, asking for credit card information to finally go on the site. Woah, wait a minute, what about the poor who cannot afford to donate money thus cannot fully access this enlightening website? That’s not fair! Is there a half a trillion dollar plan attached to this to get the greedy rich people to share their money so the less fortunate can gain access to the website? Where’s your heart, liberals? The site also asks where you live, your employer, and occupation, etc; Hey, I guess that’s not creepy at all! After you do all that, you can then freely snitch on your neighbors, friends, family, coworkers - heck, the possibilities are endless!
I hear a lot of talk from liberals that we are overreacting. "It’s just fair campaigning." Obama’s Deputy Press Secretary, Katie Hogan, said the website was simply “a tool providing our supporters with the facts they need to fight back against lies and distortions about the President’s record.” (I think what she really means by this is they don’t want anyone to find out about Obama’s previous campaign history, largely ignored by the media, like oh, I don’t know, perhaps the time he claimed he visited 57 states with one left to go not including Alaska or Hawaii. Or maybe his little slip up when he said “My Muslim Faith” err I meant Christian..) Don’t believe me on those? Here’s the youtube links.
I’m not saying it’s evil to have a website, but you have to admit, it starts getting a little sketchy when your encouraged to report to the government about “attacks” and “talking bad” about Obama, his administration, or liberalism in general. No other president has ever endorsed something so, well, just plain creepy. Think what you want, but do me a favor. If you’re sitting here right now, extremely appalled and offended, please report this paper to attackwatch.com. I could use the publicity.

September thoughts: One Nation, Under God
I had a restless night. So much was on my mind, thinking about America, and the tragedy of September 11th. Last night, I watched T.V. specials showing some footage and survivors. I was only nine years old when this all happened, yet I remember it vividly. It’s always going to mean so much more to us that remember that exact day, than those who hadn’t. For some reason, all of what happened just really struck me today. It’s true, understanding grows with age. What I don’t understand is the apathy that is now taking place in America. For maybe a year after September 11, 2001, Americans seemed united and fired up. People were praying, pressing for war, and seemed all united on decision-making (for the most part). (Of course, humans always turn to God in times of tragedy, but He is always faithful.) No one worried about offending any muslims extremists. Now, it’s ten years later. Some Americans are upset about going to war at all and it taking so long to kill Osama. Are you kidding me? Watch that footage for me one more time and say we should not have gone to war. What the footage didn’t show you was the muslim countries celebrating at our demise that very day. It makes me angry, and it SHOULD get Americans angry. Perhaps what upsets me the most is the story of the crosses left standing in the rubble. Some atheist complained that “he can’t sleep at night and gets headaches” from the thought of the crosses being displayed, because it’s a religious symbol. This country was founded on Judeo-Christian values, and if you don’t like it, get over it. If you are an atheist, and you believe in no God, then why would it bother you if three crosses standing in the rubble were up anyways? You’re an atheist. You believe in nothing. You should have no conviction about anything, so what is that to you? Who are you to say that they should be put away? What about the families who lost love ones and saw those crosses standing there, symbolizing hope? In fact, two can play at that game. What about my feelings? I’m offended they wouldn’t have them up, what about me? Did I also mention that no Christian spoke today, because we didn’t want to “offend” anyone. Um, hello? No one was worried about offending anyone ten years ago? Why now? Think about it. My last point: the controversy over a mosque being built a reasonable distance near ground zero (and using government funds to pay for it?!?!) Are you serious? The oh-so “open-minded” “well’’-rounded” liberals think it is terrible of us “small minded”, bigoted Christian Conservatives to oppose it. My problem? I don’t care who you are. History shows that Muslim extremists build mosques near places that they considered dominated. The most famous example is the Dome of the Rock in Jerusalem. We know their motivation. I’m not saying that all muslims are evil, but I’m not afraid of offending them either. Can we just get rid of the political correctness? Instead of worrying about hurting everyone else’s feelings, let’s focus on US. America’s best interest. One nation, under God.

Here's the thing, Obama
When I wasn’t counting how many times Obama said “fair share”, I was actually trying to give this speech a chance. So now he’s proposing this “American Jobs Act”. That sounds nice and dandy and all, but honestly, how many years and billions of dollars does he have to spend of hardworking American money to realize that keynesian economics does not work? He doesn’t care because he’s just so much smarter than the average American. He acts like he cares so much for the poor-the people living from paycheck to paycheck. Is extending the unemployment by a year really going to solve that? The best economic stimulus is a job. Sadly, people like to get paid for nothing. The fact of the matter is, poor people who are dependent on the government for programs, money, and “basic necessities” are easier to manipulate. He said that Warren Buffett begged him to do something about the fact that he paid so little taxes. (Coughcapitalgainscough) Why does he not mention that? I’ll tell you why, because it doesn’t fit his agenda. If you really felt so bad about it, write a big fat check to the IRS stamped with a heart and signed yours truly. Why not the Fair Tax, Obama? Of course, it takes power away from the government. I forgot. Those pesky little details just get in the way. Regarding mindless regulations and programs, Obama said that we cannot just take away programs and way of life Americans have been living for decades. My problem with this statement was this: He was not referring to the Founding Fathers basis for American life. He was referring to FDR’s New Deal program. President Obama, I can see right through your Alinsky tactics. You may be fooling some people, but not me and many other fired up Americans. As said by Ann Coulter, “Being a Christian means that I am called upon to do battle against lies, injustice, cruelty, hypocrisy-you know, all the virtues in the church of liberalism.” –and I intend to help her do just that.
