“Without God, there is not virtue, because there’s no prompting of the conscience. Without God, we’re mired in the matter, that flat world that tells us only what the senses perceive. Without God, there is coarsening of the society. And without God, democracy will not and cannot long endure. If we ever forget that we’re one nation under God, then we will be a nation gone under.” - Ronald Reagan

Attack Watch: Forget the facts. Fight the truth.

Remember that really annoying kid back in elementary school? They were the teacher’s pet always snitching on people for whispering, or using the wrong color crayon. I know I did. (I punched one in 2nd grade, got sent to “the wall” but that’s another story...) Well now we’re dealing with the same type of thing, at the adult level. It's called Attackwatch.com: Obama’s reelection campaign idea. Of course, there’s an agenda behind it (surprise, surprise) Let’s begin the journey, shall we?
The “genius” purpose of this website in simple terms is this: You hear someone say something bad about Obama, you report it. It’s like tattle-taling, except to the government. This website is laughable, really. Apparently, stating mere facts and revealing Obama and his administration's hidden agendas to the common man is considered an “attack”. (There are giant pictures of Glenn Beck, Rick Perry, etc.) Okay, that’s the basic premise of it, but here’s where it gets really funny.
I tried to get onto this website because, of course, I was curious to see what “dirt” they were dishing up. It first asked for an email and zip code. I did, but of course skewed it. I thought for sure I was in at this point, when it brings me to another page saying at the very top, “ President Obama’s opponents are still using false claims against him and his record in an attempt to derail our momentum. Donate to support our campaign and help us fight back with the facts.” Let me translate this. “Look guys, all these conservatives and “Constitution huggers” and really starting to get on our nerves with silly things, like the truth. Revealing our government expansion ideas and other unappealing agendas are going to make us lose power, and we are power hungry imbeciles. Please donate to our cause. We love huge government and power over the people! Errr, we meant power to the people!” Also, it says, “Paid for Obama, for America.” Wow, what a great guy! It then asks for a generous “gift” to Obama, asking for credit card information to finally go on the site. Woah, wait a minute, what about the poor who cannot afford to donate money thus cannot fully access this enlightening website? That’s not fair! Is there a half a trillion dollar plan attached to this to get the greedy rich people to share their money so the less fortunate can gain access to the website? Where’s your heart, liberals? The site also asks where you live, your employer, and occupation, etc; Hey, I guess that’s not creepy at all! After you do all that, you can then freely snitch on your neighbors, friends, family, coworkers - heck, the possibilities are endless!
I hear a lot of talk from liberals that we are overreacting. "It’s just fair campaigning." Obama’s Deputy Press Secretary, Katie Hogan, said the website was simply “a tool providing our supporters with the facts they need to fight back against lies and distortions about the President’s record.” (I think what she really means by this is they don’t want anyone to find out about Obama’s previous campaign history, largely ignored by the media, like oh, I don’t know, perhaps the time he claimed he visited 57 states with one left to go not including Alaska or Hawaii. Or maybe his little slip up when he said “My Muslim Faith” err I meant Christian..) Don’t believe me on those? Here’s the youtube links.
I’m not saying it’s evil to have a website, but you have to admit, it starts getting a little sketchy when your encouraged to report to the government about “attacks” and “talking bad” about Obama, his administration, or liberalism in general. No other president has ever endorsed something so, well, just plain creepy. Think what you want, but do me a favor. If you’re sitting here right now, extremely appalled and offended, please report this paper to attackwatch.com. I could use the publicity.
