Recently, very
recently, one of our most basic fundamental Natural Rights, religious liberty,
has been under attack by none other than… the Obama Administration! (surprise,
surprise) Unfortunately, if you tune into MSNBC, CNN, ABC, and NBC you’d have
no idea that any of this is going on. (I’m refraining from including CBS in
this. After all, they gave a GENEROUS 19 seconds to this story) But what’s the
big deal? It’s not like this is one of the biggest attacks on religious liberty
since the founding of America or anything…..oh wait…it is.
Guys. This is a
big deal. Quick recap for you folks- The Obama Administration wants to force
Catholic institutions (hospitals, schools, etc.) to provide contraception to
everyone that they serve in these institutions and to their employees even
though it is against their religious beliefs. This isn’t just about providing
contraception, though. This is about religious liberty. If they can force them
to do this, what’s stopping them from forcing Catholic charity hospitals to perform
abortions? What’s stopping them from forcing the Catholic hospitals to provide
assisted suicide? What’s stopping them from forcing Evangelical Pastors to perform
marriage ceremonies for homosexuals? Where’s the fine line? This is about one
of our most basic God given rights. This is about the Obama Administration
flocking over the boundaries over the Constitution once again, putting YOUR
freedom in jeopardy. Why is this happening? Why won’t these media stations
cover this? Why does no one seem to know that the Catholic church is SUEING the
Obama Administration. There’s a lawsuit, and the media won’t cover it. Why? Well,
let me just kill two birds with one stone.
It is absolutely absurd that most news
media refuses to cover the biggest attack on religious liberty since the
founding of the nation. Honestly speaking, there is absolutely a liberal bias
in the media. I blame the liberal bias on the school system. Of course, I believe
that learning should not be fully dependent on school education. People should think
for themselves. Unfortunately, many do not. The majority of big-wig schools for
journalism, communications, political science, etc. are completely left-wing
(such as Columbia University, University of California, Berkeley, New York
University, etc.) I've experienced my share of liberal professors at my own community college, so I
have an idea of how they operate. Essentially, they don't tell you how to think,
they tell you what to think. If you disagree, they shoot you down as being a
bigot or lacking sufficient knowledge. At this very same school, I have a
friend who's professor was getting irritated with her because she stands for
conservative principles. He told her, "You want to know why most college
professors are liberals? Because we're educated." Many of kids are going to these schools, and they get indoctrinated with liberal
philosophy. They are taught that they are the only ones that are absolutely
right and as long as they "feel good" about themselves, that is all that
matters. They teach them with a deceptive liberal slant, and when they get out
of college, they continue with everything they learned from these liberal
schools. They carry on the liberal way to their media jobs, thus reflecting the media bias problem.
They cannot let the Obama Administration look bad. I mean, he's the closest guy they have to shift America into the socialist utopia that they desire so badly. In the very least, they could show both sides of the story. They could show the defense the Obama Administration has against the allegations of the Catholic Church, but they know they cannot do this because the Obama Administration has no valid argument. The general public would recognize that. The government does not have a right to tell them what to do. This case isn't just about being forced to provide contraception. It's a slippery slope. If the government can force this on the Catholics, where would it end? This will only expand the scope of government, which is their ultimate aspiration. Religious liberty is one of the most basic fundamental rights that the Founders fought so hard to established this country for. How the media can outright refuse to discuss this, in civil discourse, is absolutely beyond me.
